BREEDING PROGRAM
Deliberate by design.
Our breeding decisions begin with one question: does this pairing move the program forward while respecting the qualities that make a German Shepherd exceptional?
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We are building slowly, on purpose.
Von Zo Haus is a family-based program. That means we have no interest in breeding simply to keep puppies available. Each proposed pairing should make sense on paper and in the dogs themselves.
We consider pedigree, temperament, physical structure, available health information, working or show credentials where applicable, and the strengths and weaknesses each dog may contribute.
Our objective is balance: a dog with the presence expected of the German Shepherd, a temperament that can live confidently within a family, and a pedigree that supports the long-term direction of the program.

FOUR FOUNDATIONS
What guides a Von Zo Haus pairing
Character
Confidence, stability and the ability to live as part of a family matter deeply to us.
Structure
We look for functional, breed-appropriate construction rather than appearance in isolation.
Pedigree
We study ancestry to understand what may be reinforced through a pairing.
Health
We use available health information in our planning and will publish our dogs' own results as testing is completed.

PUPPIES & PLACEMENT
Good breeding does not end at birth.
A puppy's future matters just as much as the pairing that produced it. We want prospective owners to understand the breed, the commitment involved and what kind of German Shepherd is appropriate for their household.
As our program expands, this page will also document our puppy-raising approach, socialization practices, veterinary protocol, contracts and the information provided to each new owner.
